He visited an island in the Van Lake with some of the girls that attend the kilim weaving workshops. For most of the girls, this was their first trip to this historic landmark, that is located in their very own city.

Last week TPF and HADD took off some time to visit the Akdamar Island and Church. It is 20 minutes
from Gevash to the island by boat. The weather was perfect and no wind. Akdamar Island was a perfect sight.
As we board the boat to the Island, another group of about 20 Blind young people boarded with their friends who were helping them
to get around. Together we landed on the Island and toured the Church.
I think they saw the beauty and the history that lies on the Island better than Ozlenen, Enver and me..
Yes they can see!
On the way back, there was Kurdish music playing on the loudspeakers of the boat and they danced.
They were beautiful.
