This Mother’s Day, We Honor Mothers,
who are paving the way for change
Necla, a mother of two, has only 5th-grade education. ACEV’s Women Empowerment Program transformed her life. She was able to place her son to kindergarten and complete high school. She now attends college at a distance education program. When discussing how everything has changed for her and her family she notes, “I learned to speak my mind. Now, I am a better mother and a role model for my children.”
Nebahat, a teacher and a mother of one, changed the lives of many women in eastern Turkey through a self support center (KA-MER) she established. The center, financed by an on-site restaurant, provides services such as counseling, daycare, and employment opportunities to help women achieve financial independence and gain self-respect.
Sukriye, a high school graduate and a new mother, was financially dependent on her husband until recently. With the microloan she received from KEDV, she now supports her family of three by selling hand made crafts. She feels she now has a voice.
At TPF we are proud to support projects empowering mothers who are leading the way in their communities. Your support makes sure these mothers get the resources and tools they need to have equal opportunities in life. And because of that—because of you—Necla, Nebahat, Sukriye and many others have what all moms want most: a better future for their children.
