What is More Valuable Than A Child’s Life?
I wish to introduce you to Tuana, a beautiful 3 year old girl, who we just admitted to our hospital.
She’s not aware of anything. As she receives aggressive treatment, her hair starts falling out, and she begins questioning with her bewildered eyes. How would she know what leukemia is? How would she know what chemotherapy is and what she was going to experience?
Her father is a Turkish laborer with minimum wage. He cannot afford the travelling expenses to take her to big cities where specialized medical centers are, let alone taking her to a private hospital. He leaves her at the hospital and returns to his homeland right away to be with his other children. Tuana’s treatment will take approximately 3 years and if everything goes right, she will have a 90% chance to be cured if she is provided the best treatment, care, supporting equipment, healthy diet, hygienic environment, and morale support.
