Can Comertoglu is the Head of Product for Google Maps Crisis Response, whose mission is to assist people as they navigate, explore and get things done in the world during and while recovering from a crisis. In this role, Can led new capabilities such as Wildfire and Air Quality layers, spearheaded Google Maps’ COVID and Turkey Earthquake responses, and helped launch new products including typhoon and earthquake visualizations, and flood predictions. Prior to Google, he spent over 15 years in product and business leadership roles at Microsoft, Amazon and Vimeo. Can received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, and currently resides in Seattle with his spouse and 2 cats.
