Today marks one month since the tragic earthquakes struck Türkiye, causing immense damage and devastation in 11 cities. Over 45,000 have lost their lives, and millions have lost their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones. As we take a moment to reflect on this disaster, we remember those who have lost their lives and those who continue to struggle, and we recognize the courage and compassion of those who have stepped forward to help.
Since day one, we have been working with vetted partner organizations to assess the needs to ensure your philanthropic investments in Türkiye are used in the most immediate and impactful way. Our grants to date total $3,397,756. We have provided funding to support the critical work of 35 of our local partners in responding to the earthquake, helping over 140K people. Our commitment to transparency means that we are dedicated to providing regular updates on our grants’ impact and the organizations we support. See a detailed breakdown of our grants to date here.
As we mark this occasion, we thank you one more time for your tremendous support throughout this challenging time. Our community has grown bigger and stronger in the last month. We are proud to be part of a community that is so sincere and united in its commitment to finding solutions to the crisis in Türkiye. Thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts by using their platform to raise awareness, share our campaign, and raise funds. Thank you to those who have helped through live streams, sharing music, concerts, raffles, art auctions, in-kind gifts, and more. There is solace in knowing you are helping lead the charge in finding solutions to support relief efforts alongside us. Your contributions, whether they be financial, emotional, or through your dedicated work on the ground, have made a real impact on the lives of those affected.
We will continue to update our progress via email, social media, and our website. Let us continue to stand together and support each other during these difficult times.
Together, we will get through this.
With Gratitude,
Team TPF
