SUPPORT RURAL TEACHERS
$25,000 MATCHING GIFT FOR RURAL SCHOOL TEACHERS & STUDENTS!
(December 7th – December 25th)
Imagine a school in the middle of nature surrounded by trees and farming lands. Students learn not only in classrooms but also in nature. Schools are very close to homes. Teachers recognize each student as a unique individual. Now imagine this school in a village of Kars, Kastamonu, or Sivas in Turkey. In Turkey in rural schools, resources are scarce. Social and cultural norms constrain education. And, most of the time teachers lack the local and professional support they need. KODA believes that rural village schools do not need to be associated with deprivation, problems, and limited capabilities. They believe village schools can offer a platform with great opportunities and be leveraged potential to reach disadvantaged to reach children and families. They do this by empowering teachers in rural areas through training programs and solidarity networks working in rural areas! Since 2016, through the training of 1200 rural teachers, KODA has provided quality education to more than 13,000 children living in rural areas.
Next year KODA is planning to empower 270 rural teachers from 9 regions of Turkey (Harran, Suruç, and Siverek in Şanlıurfa, Siirt, Pervari, Malatya, Muş, Mardin, and Orhaneli in Bursa). This will enable them to reach more than 20,000 children.
$215 covers the professional development of a teacher for one year.
$6,450 covers the cost of the training for one region for a full year.
Our Goal is to reach $58,000!
KODA aims is to reach each and every child in rural areas in Turkey.
Please join us to support KODA in providing quality education at rural schools and make a lasting impact on the education of students in Turkey.
