Young Professionals for TPF

Committed to community and positive change, Turkish Philanthropy Funds has established Young Professionals for TPF. Change doesn’t happen overnight. And it certainly can’t happen without the next generation involved.

Young Professionals for TPF’s mission is to (1) lead TPF’s movement for change in Turkey and (2) develop leadership skills. It is committed to adding value to TPF’s efforts to advance gender equality, improve Turkish education, support Turkish entrepreneurs and economic development and highlight Turkish arts and culture. In return, TPF is committed to ensuring that young people interested in Turkey develop the skills necessary to be come future philanthropists and sit on both for-profit and non-profit boards.

Young Professionals for TPF is governed by the Emerging Leaders, which currently has 6 members who are passionate about TPF and philanthropy.

Erman Agirnasli

Erman Erman was born and raised in New York City. He received his bachelor’s degree in History with a focus in Middle Eastern history from Vassar College and his Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is currently the VP of Agime Capital LLC a real estate development firm in NYC. His interests include ethnic foods, sports, politics, world affairs, and Turkish history. He is fluent in English, Turkish, and Spanish.



Ipek Basaran

Headshot- Ipek Basaran-2Ipek was born in Istanbul. She is currently attending St. John’s University School of Law in Queens. She graduated from College of Arts and Sciences at New York University with a double major in International Relations and Economics. During her freshman year at NYU, she has studied abroad in Florence, Italy, as part of the Liberal Studies Program. After graduating in May 2014, she worked at Business Services Trainee Program at Latham & Watkins. Since her high school years at Robert College, she has had a strong interest in community service and social impact. As part of the Community Involvement Projects program at RC, she has traveled to Nevsehir and other cities in Turkey to volunteer tutoring elementary school students in summer schools. She has also completed an internship at Turkish Philanthropy Funds during her senior year at NYU and became a member of the organization in 2015.

Gulsah Senol

DSC_6972 copyGulsah was born in Ankara and has been living in New York since 1995. She graduated from Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College with a double major in Political Science and Economics in June 2010. Since high school, Gulsah has had a strong interest in nonprofits and giving back to her community. She has completed internships at the Clinton Foundation, World of Children and Turkish Philanthropy Funds. In 2014, Gulsah obtained a Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. She is an attorney practicing employment litigation at a boutique firm in New York and New Jersey. She speaks Turkish and French.


Timur Tusiray


Timur was born in Santa Barbara, California. He received a B.A. in Art History and Political Science, with a minor in Italian from UCLA, and is a 2015 graduate of USC Gould School of Law. He has summered with the General Counsel’s Office of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), externed at the UNODC, where he helped develop strategies to combat international illicit markets, and remotely clerked for the Supreme Court Chamber of the ECCC. Prior to law school, he was an assistant curator at Istanbul Museum of Modern Art. After law school, Timur was awarded an Orfalea-Brittingham Fellowship during which he worked as an assistant general counsel at the Clinton Foundation. He is currently a litigation associate at Kramer, Levin, Naftalis and Frankel, LLP. Timur speaks Turkish, English, and Italian.


Melike Ekicikol

Melike was born in Eskisehir and has been living in New York since 2005. She received her bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Economics from Baruch College and her M.B.A. from  Long Island University. Melike’s prior experiences include various positions at reputable commercial banks. Currently, she is a Portfolio Manager at Santander Bank where she personally manages a high net worth of commercial properties throughout the U.S. Melike has been actively involved in administrating successful events for non-profits and volunteering in low-income communities.
