TPF Innovation & Social Impact Summit 2026

April 28, 2026

On April 23, at The Times Center, the TPF Innovation & Social Impact Summit brought together a dynamic community of leaders, thinkers, and builders to explore a central question: not just what we can build, but how, why, and for whom we build it.

Across every session, a clear message emerged: progress on its own is not enough. It needs direction, intention, and a deeply human lens. From leadership in a time of disruption to the future of human health, from designing technology for social impact to creativity in the age of AI, the conversations reflected a shared belief: innovation is no longer neutral. It is shaped by choices, by incentives, governance, and values.

Themes of responsibility, human agency, and equity ran throughout the day. As advances in AI, biotechnology, and data reshape entire systems, the question of who benefits and who is left out has become increasingly urgent. At the same time, the Summit highlighted that the future is not being built in silos, but at the intersection of technology, science, business, and society.

The closing conversations brought this into sharper focus, positioning AI as a structural shift in both power and possibility. The message was clear: the future is not predetermined. It will be shaped by the narratives we choose and the systems we decide to build.

As the day transitioned into the evening, one idea remained constant: even at the edge of innovation, human judgment, resilience, and instinct are irreplaceable.

As we move forward, we want to make sure these conversations do not remain in the room, but translate into action: through how we give, how we invest, how we collaborate, and how we open doors for others.

We are deeply grateful to our speakers for their contributions—not only for what they shared, but for how they showed up. They challenged us, engaged deeply, and reminded us that innovation carries responsibility. We are equally thankful to everyone who contributed to this day with their presence, energy, and intention.

TPF Chairman Mustafa Kemal Abadan opened the TPF Innovation & Social Impact Summit by welcoming distinguished guests, partners, and community leaders, while reflecting on the significance of gathering on 23 Nisan, a day dedicated to children and future generations. He emphasized the shared responsibility to build a future shaped by opportunity, inclusion, and collaboration.

Highlighting the Summit’s focus on the intersection of technology, philanthropy, science, and the arts, he spoke about the importance of ensuring that innovation serves humanity with intention and responsibility. He also underscored TPF’s mission of connecting generosity with impact across borders and thanked the Summit’s sponsors, speakers, and supporters for making the gathering possible. He closed by encouraging participants to continue building meaningful partnerships and solutions together.

This opening conversation will explore what it means to lead and innovate in a rapidly changing world. In dialogue with Hanzade Doğan, the discussion will examine how leaders navigate uncertainty, build cultures of innovation, and respond to the societal implications of technological change. Drawing on her experience transforming organizations across media, technology, and entrepreneurship, the conversation will reflect on the opportunities and responsibilities that come with innovation today — and what it will take to shape a more resilient and forwardlooking future.

In this conversation, Prof. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil, a leading scientist in metabolic disease research, and technology leader Ayşegül İldeniz explore how advances in biology, genetics, and technology are transforming our understanding of human health. Moving beyond the traditional model of treating illness after it appears, the discussion examines how scientific discovery, AI, and systems thinking are enabling a deeper understanding of disease at the cellular level, opening the possibility of earlier prevention, more personalized treatments, and entirely new approaches to health. Together, they reflect on the opportunities and responsibilities that come with this new era, where science, technology, and innovation converge to reshape the future of medicine.

As technological innovation accelerates, the question is no longer only what we can build, but how we ensure these advancements serve humanity and the planet. This forward-looking conversation brings together leaders from technology, research, venture capital, and climate strategy to explore how digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, mobile ecosystems, and climate innovation can be guided by responsibility and human values. Together, they will examine how technology and capital can be aligned to expand opportunity, strengthen resilience, and help shape a more equitable and sustainable future. Featuring: Umur Çubukçu, Aykut Karaalioğlu, Ece Kamar, PhD, Yasemin Koloğlu. Moderated by: Didem Altop

As artificial intelligence enters the creative process, artists, technologists, and storytellers are rethinking the boundaries of imagination. This conversation explores how human–machine collaboration is transforming art, music, film, and design, raising new questions about authorship, originality, and cultural responsibility. Through real-world examples, panelists will demonstrate how emerging tools are reshaping creative industries while expanding access to storytelling in unprecedented ways. Featuring: Grimanesa Amorós, Pınar Seyhan Demirdağ, Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol, Mary Solomon. Moderated by: Ülkü Rowe

This conversation brings together leaders in biotechnology, neuroscience, finance, and global health to explore the shift from treating illness to preventing it. As advances in precision diagnostics, AI-enabled data analysis, neurotechnology, and neuroscience transform our understanding of human health, new opportunities are emerging to detect disease earlier and personalize care in unprecedented ways. At the same time, these breakthroughs raise critical questions about affordability, access, and how health systems must evolve to ensure innovations benefit people globally. Featuring: Hasan Ayaz, Arda Ural, Ercüment Tokat. Moderated by: Wafaa El-Sadr

Artificial intelligence is reshaping economies, institutions, and societies at unprecedented speed. But the deeper question is not only about technological advancement — it is about how societies position themselves within this transformation. In this closing conversation, Faruk Eczacıbaşı, President of the Turkish Informatics Foundation, joins journalist Stacey Vanek Smith to reflect on the emerging technological paradigm. From the risks of a widening digital divide to the role of networks, diaspora, and new narratives, the discussion explores how countries and institutions can help shape a more inclusive technological future.

In his closing remarks, TPF Board Member Ahmet Bozer reflected on the Summit’s central themes, emphasizing the importance of leadership in guiding rapid technological and social change with humanity, purpose, and responsibility. He highlighted discussions around health, education, inclusion, and innovation, underscoring the need to balance progress with ethics, humility, and collaboration.

He closed on a hopeful note by speaking about the power of creativity, renewal, and human connection, reminding guests that the future is shaped not only by technology, but by the values and partnerships that help people thrive together.
