Three Years After the Earthquake: Why the Work Ahead Matters Most

Building Forward – TPF Turkiye Earthquake Fund 3rd Anniversary Report

February 5, 2026

Three years ago, the earthquakes changed everything. Lives were lost. Communities were uprooted. And the road ahead felt uncertain.

In those first moments, one thing became clear: recovery would not be measured in days or months but in years, relationships, and sustained commitment.

Today, as we mark the third anniversary, we want to begin with one word: thank you.

You trusted us not only to respond, but to listen, to adapt, and to invest with care. This impact exists because you chose to stay engaged beyond the headlines.

Because of your support, we have moved from emergency response to long-term recovery and resilience. Your funding has helped local organizations rebuild livelihoods, expand access to education, provide psychosocial support, and restore a sense of dignity and stability in communities that continue to face immense challenges.

These are not one-time interventions. They are sustained efforts designed with local partners, grounded in real needs, and focused on helping communities stand on their own again.

Over the past three years, the Earthquake Fund has evolved, just as recovery itself must. We’ve learned that rebuilding is not only about physical structures. It’s about people. About trust. About creating the conditions for communities to heal, adapt, and imagine a future again.

And your generosity made that possible.

As we share this third-year impact report, we do so with deep gratitude—and with a strong sense of responsibility. The work continues. The commitment continues. And we remain dedicated to stewarding your support with intention, transparency, and care.

From all of us at Turkish Philanthropy Funds, thank you for standing with us and with the communities we serve as we build forward, together.
