Finding a Trusted Partner in Philanthropy
Vedat and Assia Eyüboğlu knew they wanted philanthropy to be an important part of their lives. They also knew that meaningful giving requires more than choosing a cause. They wanted to understand where their support could make a difference, which organizations they could trust, and how to approach their philanthropy thoughtfully over time.
Their interests were shaped by very different life experiences.
Born in North Africa and raised in Algeria, Assia saw firsthand how women could be denied the same educational, economic, and social opportunities as men. Those experiences shaped her commitment to gender equality and a deeply held belief that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
For Vedat, education has always been fundamental. He believes that access to quality education can change the trajectory of a child's life and that technology can expand those possibilities even further. He is particularly inspired by the curiosity, ambition, and potential of young people when they are given the tools to succeed.
What they needed was a trusted partner that could help translate those values into effective philanthropy.
At TPF, Vedat and Assia found access to knowledge, trusted nonprofit partners, due diligence, and guidance that allowed them to explore the issues they cared about while making informed decisions about their giving. Rather than having to navigate the nonprofit landscape on their own, they could ask questions, learn about different approaches, and identify organizations and opportunities aligned with their priorities.
Over time, their relationship with TPF evolved along with their philanthropy. What began with supporting causes they cared about grew into a broader understanding of how strategic giving can strengthen organizations and communities over the long term.
That experience also led them to think about the infrastructure behind effective philanthropy. They came to see that strong nonprofit organizations require strong institutions around them, institutions that can build trusted relationships, conduct due diligence, connect donors with opportunities, and respond as community needs evolve.
Their decision to support TPF's endowment reflects that long-term perspective. In addition to investing in the causes they care about today, Vedat and Assia are investing in TPF's ability to guide donors, support trusted partners, and serve communities for generations to come.
As they describe it: “TPF is the engine our communities need. We want to fuel it so it continues long after we're gone.”
For Vedat and Assia, finding the right philanthropic partner gave them more than a way to give. It gave them the confidence, knowledge, and flexibility to turn deeply personal values into a thoughtful philanthropic journey that can continue to evolve over time.
