In southeastern Turkiye, teachers stepped into classrooms filled with children carrying trauma from the 2023 twin earthquakes.

For these teachers, it wasn’t just about lessons. It was about building trust, offering stability, and helping children feel safe again. Many faced exhaustion, limited resources, and homesickness—but they kept going.

That’s where KODA’s Post-Disaster Rural Education Support Program made a difference. Through mentoring, workshops, and practical guidance, teachers gained the tools and confidence to connect with students, manage challenges, and create classrooms full of empathy and encouragement.

Today, these teachers are not just educators -they are mentors, guides, and sources of hope. And their students are thriving, learning, and discovering resilience every day.
