It’s been a month since Türkiye passed ‘The Animal Protection Law,’ which legitimizes the collection of all stray animals, affecting roughly 4 million stray dogs and cats. With the country’s shelter capacity currently at around 100,000 this new law has already started to overcrowd shelters, resulting in poor living conditions and unmanageable situations.
These animals have protected and served us for years—whether by guarding our homes, helping during disasters, or being companions when we needed them most. Now, it’s our turn to protect and help them.
To ensure these animals receive the love and care they deserve, TPF launched the Street Animals in Türkiye Fund. All donations to TPF’s Street Animals in Türkiye Fund will go directly to our partners working on animal rights in Türkiye. We specifically aim to:
1. Increase Shelter Capacity and Improve Conditions:
- Expand shelter spaces, transforming them into temporary safe havens until the animals find their forever homes.
- Provide essential supplies, including food, vaccinations, and neutering services, to meet the immediate needs of these animals.

- Facilitate the adoption of stray animals, ensuring they find loving families, whether in Türkiye or the U.S.
