Maria is a senior advisor specializing in campaigns, issues management and social purpose communications and co-lead of the Global Foundations and Nonprofits sector.

Her focus is helping clients reconcile financial, government, and NGO positions on environmental and social issues that risk the license to operate or present a leadership opportunity.

Since joining the firm in 2007, she has helped establish Brunswick’s Business & Society, ESG and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion offers. Her stewardship of the firm also includes leading the firm’s second largest office, New York, from 2016 to 2021. In this role, she oversaw the office’s growth and transformation including the expansion of financial situations, campaigning, public affairs, litigation, digital, and creative capabilities.

Maria began her career with the United Nations in policy research and multi-lateral negotiations. She is a seasoned opinion researcher, having worked for the strategy firm PSB on electoral contests around the world, including the Former Republic of Yugoslavia, South Korea, Ukraine, U.S.A. and Zimbabwe. She brings her experience in global affairs and political campaigns to help clients build successful engagement strategies.

Maria is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School and Tufts University, where she chairs the Institute for Global Leadership. She also served as the Co-Vice Chair for Turkish Philanthropy Funds.
