Ms. Sultanoğlu was appointed in February, 2012, as the UNDP Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Previously, she served as the director of human resources in the UNDP Bureau of Management.
Before that, she served as deputy assistant administrator and deputy regional director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), (2007-2010); UN resident coordinator and UNDP resident representative in Belarus (2004-2007); UN resident coordinator and UNDP resident representative in Lithuania (2000-2005); deputy resident representative in Morocco (1995-2000).
Ms. Sultanoğlu holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the School of International Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Barnard College at Columbia University. She is also a graduate of Robert College in Istanbul.
