Education
Goal: Investing in a good quality education is an opportunity to invest not only in an individual, but in an entire nation, especially as today’s labor market requires increasingly complex skills in thinking, communicating, and technology. TPF would like to ensure access to education for all children in Turkey and strengthen the public school system. TPF supports:
- Organizations and projects that build and repair schools in rural areas to enable higher enrollment.,
- Projects that improve the quality of village schools and make it easier and safer for girls to attend them.
- Projects that provide financial assistance to poor children, especially in rural areas and urban slums.
- Literacy programs and projects that help drop-outs to return to school and graduate.
- After school programs, which are an important part of children’s development.
- Projects that promote changes within existing public school systems that address documented disparities in academic performance, attendance, graduation rates, and suspension rates.Projects that improve youth’s academic skills, prepare them for the world of work, successful transition to employment, and self-sufficiency; and help them avoid high-risk behaviors.
