Meet the Current Members of our Junior Board!
Erman was born and raised in New York City. He received his bachelor’s degree in History with a focus in Middle Eastern history from Vassar College and his Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is currently the VP of Agime Capital LLC a real estate development firm in NYC. His interests include ethnic foods, sports, politics, world affairs, and Turkish history. He is fluent in English, Turkish, and Spanish.
Doruk was born in Istanbul and graduated from Uskudar American Academy before attending Syracuse University for his dual major in Architecture and Economics. He moved to New York in 2009 to attend the Master of Science in Real Estate Development program at Columbia University. He has been working at Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill LLP as a project manager in projects in Turkey, Korea and China since 2010.
Omer Corluhan, a native of Istanbul, is a 2004 graduate of the German School of Istanbul. In 2008, he graduated from Swarthmore College with double degrees in Engineering and Economics. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2008, and has been working in the electronic trading desk of Bank of America Merrill Lynch covering Quantitative Hedge Funds ever since. He recently started his Executive MBA at Columbia Business School. A Lang Opportunity Scholarship awarded in his sophomore year at Swarthmore College enabled Omer to start Small Steps, Big Tomorrows program. In collaboration with Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı and Ministry of Education, the project was designed to encourage elementary and high school students to engage in community service projects. Small Steps, Big Tomorrows caught the attention of Procter & Gamble, which awarded the project a $300,000 grant to expand the programs. He has also served on the Wall Street Associates Committee of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Aylin Ryan was born in New York and grew up in Chatham, New Jersey. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2007 with a BS in Engineering/Applied Mathematics and Statistics and a BA in Romance Languages (with a concentration in French and Italian). Upon graduation, Aylin moved to Manhattan and began working in investment banking at Lazard Freres. After her investment banking experience, Aylin went on to work at an environmental investment firm, Akeida Capital. Aylin is currently an Associate at The Carlyle Group working as part of the U.S. Structured Credit team. Aylin is bi-lingual, fluent in both English and Turkish.
Ayse grew up in Istanbul and graduated from Robert College. She then went on to study at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Entrpreneurship and Applied Mathematics. After graduating, she moved to New York and has been working for Citigroup as a Corporate Banker for the past 3 years.
Gulsah was born in Ankara and has been living in New York since 1995. She graduated from Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College with a double major in Political Science and Economics in June 2010. Since high school, Gulsah has had a strong interest in nonprofits and giving back to her community. She has completed internships at the Clinton Foundation, World of Children and Turkish Philanthropy Funds. Gulsah is currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, focusing on international business law. She speaks Turkish and French.
