Why Give Through TPF?

As the number of successful Turkish-Americans grew rapidly in the last 2-3 decades, interest in giving back to Turkey also grew. Yet, the challenge was to find credible and transparent civil society organizations back home. Having done thorough due diligence, Turkish Philanthropy Funds provides the service of connecting high-impact social organizations in Turkey to the Turkish community in the United States. As a result, donors not only receive the simplicity and tax advantage (as per US law) of a public charity combined with the personal recognition but also involvement and flexibility of a private foundation for not only giving to their local causes in the US but also in Turkey.

Donors also gain access to the highest level of strategic thinking on ways to meet community challenges to help make their contributions as effective as possible.

And, because we plan to be here, serving our community for a long-time, you can be assured that there will be a permanent source of funds for issues you care about.

We know that you consider your philanthropic gifts to be an investment - in your community, your hometown, or whatever cause you select. Therefore, at TPF, we offer you to tap into the expertise of our staff members who are available to assess the effectiveness of a grant, to research a giving option or to discuss opportunities with you. We care a great deal about the effectiveness of your gifts and that your giving experience rewards you with great satisfaction and joy.

We invite you to get involved because giving through TPF is:

  • Tax-Effective- Give "through" TPF and get tax deduction.
  • Accountable- TPF's grant-making policies make sure requests for funds are dealt with efficiently and assessed carefully.
  • Simple and Flexible- Support a specific NGO, recommend a cause or an area where you wish your gifts to go to, or give to the general benefit of the community.
  • Effective- Your gifts through TPF go to effective organizations with the maximum impact on the community.
  • Connected- Get in touch with other philanthropists; meet grant recipients; and learn about groups working on your philanthropic interests.
  • Long-lasting- By building a substantial, multipurpose endowment fund, TPF not only tackles today's priorities but also meets the needs of future generations.
  • Convenient- TPF is efficient because it pools funds for investment, and takes care of legal and tax requirements, as well as grant administration.
  • Cost-Effective- A Turkish NGO can establish a "Friends of" Fund, and engage in US fundraising more cost effectively.
  • Socially Responsible- A US Company can establish a fund under TPF and demonstrate effective corporate social responsibility.
