Nurcan Baysal

Nurcan Baysal is the Founder and Coordinator of Rural Development Program in Husnu Ozyegin Foundation. She is also the founder of Diyarbakir Political and Social Research Institute and the Development Centre Association in Diyarbakir. Her efforts to protect female rights through NGOs in Southeastern Turkey were pivotal. Nurcan serves as an advisor and board member to several organizations such as Global Fund for Women, Open Society and Women Labour and Employment Platform, and is also a writer on development issues in Turkey. She won the WWSF prize on women creativity in rural life in 2010.
