EDUCATION TPF aims to promote access to education for all children in Turkey and strengthen the public school system. Examples of initiatives that TPF would support are: Improving the quality of village schools and make it easier and safer for girls to attend them. Examples of initiatives that TPF may support are:
- Providing financial assistance to poor children, especially in rural areas and urban slums.
- Promoting changes within existing public school systems that address documented disparities in academic performance, attendance, graduation rates, and suspension rates.
- Improving youth's academic skills, preparing them for the world of work, successful transition to employment, and self-sufficiency; and helping them avoid high-risk behaviors.
GENDER EQUALITY TPF aims to promote the status of women and girls by supporting initiatives which empower them through educational, financial and social resources. Examples of initiatives that TPF may support are:
- Enhancing women's skill building and providing financial means to women.
- Ensuring local and central democratic structures fully include the leadership of women and that women gain access to the resources, information and decision making authority they need for full civic participation.
- Provisioning of shelters for abused and threatened women; especially the projects that work to eradicate such traditions as underage marriage and "honor killings".
LIVELIHOODS TPF aims to promote interventions which improve the quality of livelihoods in urban areas. Examples of initiatives that TPF would support are:
- Innovative ideas for creating opportunities, both for self-employment and wage employment among the urban poor through job training, entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprise programs.
- Micro-credit initiatives that not only provide access to credit to those who would not qualify for regular bank loans but also integrate enterprise and enable women to have more control over their increased incomes.
- Providing social and cultural vitality through urban centers, and provide long-term solutions to the problem of increasing urbanization rate.
- Projects that empower local communities to restore and preserve the environment and encourage sustainable development.
- Supporting populations with special needs such as people with disabling conditions, elderly, mental health and retardation, and AIDS in urban areas.
- Improving the effectiveness and accountability of disaster response, disaster preparedness, mitigation and reconstruction especially in major urban areas such as Istanbul.
ARTS & CULTURE TPF aims to promote cultural diversity and community well-being through art and cultural activities. Examples of initiatives that TPF may support are:
- Informing the public on cultural diversity by bringing together artists from different backgrounds and styles.
- Educating public on sensitive issues by using art and other activities.
- Getting the public to think outside of their norms and established beliefs, helping imaginations grow.
