Gamze Ates Ayberk
Gamze Ates, 42, recently joined Pershing Square Capital Management LLP. Previously, she was a Senior Vice President at DHL Worldwide. Her most recent position was Head of Emerging Markets for the Global Customer Solutions division. In this role, she ran a $500 million business focused on creating supply chain solutions for Fortune 500 companies. She managed operations in 82 countries in the Middle East, Subsaharan Africa and the former Soviet Union. While at DHL, she was active in the Corporate Social Responsibility program which worked with UNICEF and local NGOs in her region. She joined DHL in 2002 when Admiral Lines, Inc., a freight forwarding company she founded and ran, was acquired by DHL.
Ms. Ates holds a B.A. in Architecture from Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir, Turkey. She moved to the United States in 1989 and completed her MBA at Butler University in 1993. She lives in New York with her 11 year old son. In her spare time, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Philanthropic Funds and is the New York editor for Vogue Turkey.
