About Us

Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF) is a donor centric organization in the sense that donors give "through" rather than giving to Turkish Philanthropy Funds. Therefore, we center all of our giving to respond to donors' interests and commitments. Turkish Philanthropy Funds aims to help donors maximize the impact and effectiveness of their philanthropy by eliminating administrative burdens on its donors including due diligence, management and oversight.

Our Model

TPF is the first diaspora organization of the Turkish-American community that employs the community foundation model, which is an application of one of the oldest traditions in human history: helping your neighbor. At its most simple, TPF's donor centric model allows donors to give "through" rather than giving directly to TPF. Our Mission and Approach

TPF's mission is to help donors realize their philanthropic goals to meet community needs in the US and in Turkey. While doing that we support innovative projects that  works for the public good and that can create social change. We know that there is no single or simple answer to how social innovation occurs. We understand that social change is the result of a tremendously complex mix of ingredients: social, cultural, economic and environmental conditions and individual actors colliding to spark world-changing ideas. For that reason, we build relationships with all of our partners from grantee to strategic partners to understand these conditions and to create dynamics that stimulate new ideas to germinate and blossom. read more

Legacy Society

Turkish Philanthropy Funds honors every planned gift donor with membership in the Legacy Society. The Society is created exclusively to honor and recognize people who have helped to continue our grantmaking work through a gift to TPF in their wills, trusts or estate plans. As a TPF Legacy Society member, donors receive a certificate of appreciation to serve as a reminder to others of their support of our mission. Donors gift can be recognized publicly, unless they prefer to give anonymously. The society also provides information and assistance to donors considering a planned gift. read more.
