Maria Figueroa Küpçü
Maria Figueroa Küpçü brings over ten years of experience as a strategic communications consultant working in the areas of philanthropy, public-private partnerships and stakeholder engagement. She has worked with a variety of corporate and non-profit clients to develop communications campaigns that build, defend and grow their reputations.
Maria is currently a Director at Brunswick Group LLC, a global corporate communications consultancy, where advises clients on corporate responsibility initiatives and issues campaigns. Previously, she held positions at the United Nations Development Program (U.S. and Turkey) and the Council on Foreign Relations. She has been active in the global NGO community and has led successful lobbying campaigns on a range of sustainable development issues - including the economic inclusion of youth and challenges around urbanization. From 2000-2003, Maria was Director of International Political and Corporate Campaigns for the polling firm Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates where she advised presidential and parliamentary campaigns in countries such as: United States, Former Republic of Yugoslavia, Ukraine, South Korea, and Zimbabwe.
Maria is a graduate of Tufts University and the Harvard Kennedy School. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the New America Foundation where she co-directs the Privatization of Foreign Policy Initiative.
