Haldun Tashman

Haldun Tashman, after graduating from Robert Academy and Robert College, came to New York and received his MBA from Columbia University in 1968, majoring in corporate finance as a Fulbright scholar. He began his professional career working on Wall Street for a major public accounting firm. In 1972, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, joined a small plastics company as controller. He added two successful start-up companies to the Tech Group as their founding President/CEO, which also transformed him from employee to partner in 1983. After growing the company 200 times reaching 12 manufacturing locations in 3 continents, Haldun and his partner Steve sold their mostly medical business to West Pharmaceutical Services in 2005 as part of their exit plan and merged their Asian operations with a public company based in Singapore. They have also sold their half-interest in a plastics manufacturing plant in Manisa, Turkey to the local partner. Tashco Industries, Inc, a leading window and door manufacturing company in Phoenix, owned jointly with his older brother, Feridun Tashman since 1979 remains as a family business. Tashmanlar Insaat Ltd. is a recent start-up as another family business building affordable new apartments near Istanbul airport.

 

Tashman is actively involved in various non-profit organizations which include Arizona State University, Columbia University Graduate School of Business, Arizona Community Foundation, Turkiye Ucuncu Sektor Vakfi, Bolu Izzet Baysal Vakfi, Turkish-American Business Forum in New York City and Turkish Philanthropy Funds also based in New York City.
