Filiz Bikmen

Filiz Bikmen is a foundation professional, speaker and author based in Istanbul, Turkey. Currently is the director of programs and international relations at Sabancı Foundation and a regular contributor to Alliance Magazine. Prior to joining Sabancı Foundation, Filiz served as the Executive Director at TUSEV (Third Se ctor Foundation of Turkey) a network of 100 of Turkey's leading foundations. In 2006, she prepared an extensive study on the global practice of community foundations and implications for Turkey and was rewarded with the Emerging Leaders International Fellowship at The Graduate Centre, City University of New York. Of Turkish descent and raised in New York, Filiz re-located to Istanbul in 1999. Filiz has a Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a double Bachelor of Science degree in Business Communications and Psychology from the State University of New York, College at Brockport. Filiz serves on several non-profit boards including the International Center for Not for Profit Law. She is a member of the Governing Council of the European Foundation Center, and a former Board member of Turkish Philanthropy Funds.
