Organization's Mission
The mission of TOG is:
- To transform the energy of young people toward social benefit by encouraging young people for developing and realizing various projects of their own,
- To contribute to the formation of a youth with social awareness and self-esteem, and
- To enhance democratic participation of young people through projects for young people by young people.
Impact
The need for active participation of youth into the overall society is an urgent need for a fast growing country like Turkey with such a huge young population. TOG with over 17,000 volunteers works to motivate young people ages between 17 and 25 to implement their own community projects under the umbrella of youth organizations that are founded by young community volunteers mostly in universities of Turkey as student clubs.

Valuing Young People The Problem Addressed by the Project18% of Turkey’s population is composed of young people between ages 15-24. This corresponds to approximately 12.5 million people. This fact proves the great potential Turkey has as a developing country. On the other hand, this fact cannot be valued. Young people are mostly taken as a period of transition and their needs are not taken into consideration. The opportunities for young people to express themselves and to create their own future according to their needs are very limited.| Time Line: October 2010 - January 2011 | |
The Goal of the ProjectTOG has started a journey to value this big potential for creating a civic milieu for young people to solve their problems through volunteerism, to shape their own future from today and to learn life by experimenting.
TOG provides alternative close social environment to young people and supports the personal development of young people. With the approach of lifelong learning, it allows young people to express themselves out of school environment and to gain their own life experiences. The Impact of the ProjectTOG works to provide support to young people in 62 cities of Turkey in order to raise their voices and empower them since 2002. It supports the projects of young people, organizes the peer to peer trainings, makes it possible for young people realizing their own social responsibility projects according to the local needs at the summer camps, provides youth mobilization within and outside the country.
Your support will empower Young People! It is valued, it touches, and it is worth a great deal for young people. Your donation will create a worth for the lives of young people!
